I am Jodi. I am mom, wife, grandma, dog owner. I am creative. I love to paint. I am The Sunflower Gal!
My path to get here to this blog starts through my first blog The Skinny Bitch Chronicles.
It was the first time I wrote publicly. I started it to be able to keep family and friends updated on my recovery from a massive heart attack at 42. Honestly, I didn’t even know that people that were 42 had heart attacks. I also used that blog, which I still write at occasionally, to work through my emotions after that heart attack.
Fast forward 3 years post heart attack and it became very clear to me with the help of my cardiologist that I needed to make a drastic change in my life if I wanted to continue to live. The high stress of the corporate world was no longer for me. Never in a million years did I imagine a life outside the corporate world. What would I do? (See My Decision to Leave)
I decided to take the one other thing I was good at and develop it into a job. I opened a retail store and then closed it–being the shop owner isn’t for me. (See The Evolution of a Business Plan) Now, I have pieces in two stores–The Eudora Market On Main and Flip Kansas City.
I love the creative process of taking an auction or curbside find and making it beautiful again! I sell Heirloom Traditions paint and the possibilities of finishes are endless. I enjoy helping others find their creative potential. I love talking to a customer who is afraid of paint and having them send me the before and after of their piece.
Stop by one of the stores and check out my pieces. Follow me on Facebook to stay updated on new pieces and follow my blog for step by step on those same pieces!
